There are so many great apps to download on your smart device before your next vacation. I have jumbled mine together into a "travel" folder on my iPhone. Take a look at what I rely on when traveling:
1. TripAdvisor is my go-to for recommendations on nearby restaurants. A lot of people traveling in foreign countries don't use Yelp, so for traveling most people rely on TripAdvisor for recommendations. I haven't been disappointed with any places I have found off my app.
2. AirBnb allows you to make travel plans as mobile as you are! With the app you can message hosts, gush over your itinerary, explore fairytale destinations, and add unforgettable digs to your wish list.
3. WhatsApp is great to use for messaging internationally. The app uses your phone's internet connection (4G/3G/or Wi-Fi) to let you message and call friends and family.
4. Uber is the best taxi, you can get a reliable ride in minutes without waiting in a line. There are so many different options you can choose from from an economy car to a limo, and it is usually cheaper too!
5. Spotted by Locals is awesome because you can can find insider tips handpicked by locals, and it's in 65+ cities in Europe & North America.
6. GoogleTranslate is a must. You can translate whatever you want to say into 90 different languages. If you're having trouble understanding a menu, just take a picture of the text and it will translate for you.
7. Rick Steves Audio Europe is great. The app is organized into geographic-specific playlists so that you can download information and tours on where ever you are going. Tracks provide general, cultural, and sightseeing information. My favorite features are the self-guided tours to great sights and historic walks-they are both entertaining and informative.
8. Triposo is an ultimate travel guide. It can help you decide where to sleep, and what to see and do. It's great for downloading offline maps and comes with compete guides to all the city attractions and sights. You wont miss a thing!
If you haven't used any of these apps before I suggest you download a few and try them out on your next trip! Have any favorite apps you use when traveling? I would love for you to share them with us.
